TeachersAfter years of trail running, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, snowboarding, surfing and mountain biking, Meg began yoga to fix her broken down body. What started as a physical healing of trashed knees, a bad shoulder, sore feet and ankles and unbelievably tight hips turned into much more. Through the years, Meg has found a passion for yoga and the peace, strength and focus it brings to her life. Her classes are a fun mix of alignment and flow that focus on the breath, modifications where appropriate and lots of individual attention. Having received her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification through Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini, Meg is very grateful to them and all of her other teachers for sharing their gift of yoga. What a blessing! She is currently working towards a Yoga Therapy Certification and loves helping people heal with yoga. Hillery is a Naturopathic Doctor and practicing acupuncturist with an in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology. She has a special interest in yoga as a therapeutic tool. Her classes are based on individual attention with an emphasis on alignment principles and correct body mechanics.

JJ came to the Bitterroot Valley in 2002, after a long career of being a Disc Jockey in various radio stations in the U.S. She first found yoga in California, and after several "gym yoga" classes she found a Hatha studio she liked. After moving, and coming back to California, she met her husband and retired to the Bitterroot Valley, where she and her husband started a Martial Arts ( Hapkido) studio. JJ studied and worked hard to get her first degree black belt in 2005. Yoga seemed to be a natural progression from martial arts, and has helped improve her performance in both diciplines. For JJ, yoga is the Yin to Hapkido's Yang. " For me, yoga has been a journey in getting to know myself. It's a wonderful tool for healing, for introspection, and the best part of it is for me, a very personal journey. It has really shown me where my strengths and weaknesses are, where I am physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. If you give yoga time, and you do the work, it can and does work subtle miracles." |
